“DRESS FOR SUCCESS” FCAT BREAKFAST The Columbia University 7th Grade Team hosted a FCAT Breakfast for students and parents on February 7, 2008 in the Cafeteria. It was a tremendous success. A total of 35 students were awarded certificates for academic excellence. The “Dress for Success” program was designed to encourage students to dress and look their best. On the Columbia University Team we feel that when students look their best, they do their best. Students are encouraged to “DRESS FOR SUCCESS” each Thursday by wearing professional and business clothing for the school day. This initiative is headed up by our Social Studies instructor, Mr. Jimmie Johnson. ATLANTA SPRING TOUR Team Columbia University is also sponsoring a SPRING TOUR of Atlanta, Georgia. A select group of Columbia students have been selected to participate in this educational opportunity. All students will be chosen for their hard work within the classroom in preparation for the FCAT. The Atlanta Tour will take place during the Spring Vacation from March 29TH - April 2ND. The purpose of the trip is to expand the horizons and experiences of our students. We plan to visit colleges and universities in the Atlanta area as well as some of the main attractions. The cost of the tour is $240 which covers lodging and transportation. Fundraisers have been planned to aid those students with financial needs. 5K
